The book talk is free but registration is requested. Complimentary appetizers at apéro next door but purchase your own beverages.

You are warmly invited to a reading at the Red Wheelbarrow bookstore in Paris for a reading of Cathy Yandell's new book, The French Art of Living Well: Finding Joie de Vivre in the Everyday World, published by Saint Martin's Press, 2023. Co-hosts for the apéro at the Rostand are Jen Lasley '03, Molly Rapaport '13, and Lauren Bundy '23; Carleton LAs Alexie Baldovi, Etan Conway-Burredu, Marie Menard, and Alex Saku; and Cathy Yandell, Professor of French and Francophone Studies.

If you can come only for the apéro at 7 pm, that's fine too. We look forward to seeing you!

Cathy Yandell is a professor at Carleton, teaching French literature, language, and culture. She has published articles and books on the French Renaissance, notably on time, gender, sexuality, poetry, and politics. By some quirk of fate,she was knighted by the French government into the Order of Academic Palms in 2019. When not buried in books, she loves dance, yoga, and the flying trapeze.
